There seems to be a delay between the publication of Marie Claire Maison (which my mom brought to me on her recent trip) and the posting of pictures on the site. Unacceptable! We blogger simply do not have any kind of tolerance for delayed gratification.
Thank you to Karina @ El Beso for paying attention.
What do you think of Lisa Whatmough's home in London? She is the designer/creator of Squint.
The house is simple. Monochromatic walls, white floors that showcase her wild and colorful pieces
This simple farm table and benches seem to be the only unpainted, or un-patchworked spot in the house
How much is that doggy in the window? I LOVE this image. Notice the bed painted black. Is black becoming the new color for bold statement? In the last Domino magazine, half the homes had black walls.
More black walls and white floors. More patchwork. The walls are mostly bare aside for the occasional square of color. (Lisa Whatmough' own paintings.)
Another black bed. The curtains she 'rescued from an old butcher shop' (sic). How many butcher shops have billowy red and white striped curtains? Having only been to London once, my guess is: a lot.
Here is my verdict on this house: Unpretentious, impractical, incomprehensible, perfecto.
