This has been an adrenaline-filled week. Things are good, though. Things are shaping up. Anyone here beside me needs a break from thinking, rehashing and basically driving myself nut with inconsequential things that won't even matter an hour from now?
Who else in the room needs to CHILL?
By the way, have you ever smelled a magnolia flower? Is it me or is it entirely odorless? How can they make perfume out of odorless things? Is this a vast conspiracy by perfume conglomerates? Is the joke on US? Have we been manipulated?... Oh, ouch, my brain hurts now... Chill, I say. Chill.
Beautiful post... love all those flowers!
Bon week-end!

No, it's not odorless at all! They have a sweet/citrus scent...very subtle. I have a tree in my backyard and the blooms are as big as salad plates right now.

Some magnolia varieties are scented and some aren't - those that are have a scent that is extraordinary. I was confused about this for years so you are not the only one. Have a relaxing weekend and rest all those millions of racing thoughts, xv. BTW - gorgeous images.

How beautiful are these pictures.
Yes, I need to chill too, I am in need of a serious rest from thinking.....but then when my mind is clear it makes room for new things to think about!

I need a break from my beautiful children just so my brain could actually think of things to get all worked up about.
Why do I feel so guilty saying that??

Maybe you've been smelling the wrong magnolias. They smell delicious to me. Very much like lemon verbena, but a little sweeter.

Lovely post, I adore magnolia trees, I have one in a pot which isn't doing very well but don't want to plant it until we find our 'forever' house.
The cabinet with the dolls heads, looks great.

Well, that flower was so cute. I also have that kind of flower in my mom's garden. I just wonder what is the real name of that flower. Anyway, Thanks for sharing this post.

Is it the reason why Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia's about nothingness (in a way)? That makes sense in a way. I've decided against a conspiracy since anything negative bears me down. Has this been answered already?
