There is a great series of pictures and articles on Coté Ouest Magazine that really makes me want to go to the beautiful French Île de Ré.

How beautiful are those 2 top pics on the cobble stone road - just stunning. The pink up the walls looks lovely.....makes me want to run away from home and travel.

This looks like a wonderful destination - the seaside is sounding very good right now, xv.

Poor France. It's as though every woman on the planet wants to live there. How will they fit us all?

Corine, Let's go. Leave the teenagers with the husbands (who can pay the dentist while we're gone). I'm going to have to get an atlas out to se where this place is.
Lovely post.

Ooh. Why did I ever come back??? (I mean to States.) & if you & Hazel go, it's only fair to include me. I'm in the dentist-den too & no husband, so no problem; plus, I can be fairly hilarious if given the chance.
Thanks for your comment, this a.m. Corine. It looks like you were up awfully early or awfully late. Hmmmm.
Must go wash hair before I leave apt. to do laundry (yes, it's like that)...but had to stop by. Will click links when I get back. Taking a lot of will power not to 'click.' xo susan

Love those hollyhocks in the top two pictures. And the pool isn't too shabby either...

awww - the heart coat hangers made me smile - and those first two photos - swoon! while the pink/purple combo is usually too girly for me, in an outdoor setting it is rather sweet!!

I hope you make it to the Ile de Re. It is lovely. Last time I was there though, they had rules about what colors could go on the outsides of houses. For example, I think shutters could be green or maybe one other color ~ that's all. So any OUTDOOR purples and pinks would have to be supplied by the hollyhocks, which bloom everywhere! The island is very picturesque. You'll love it.
