Some crafts are better left to professionals, non?
For those of you taxidermically inclined, Vert Cerise visited the beautiful and oh so creepy-good Parisian taxidermy store Deyrolle. Vert Cerise calls it “la boutique la plus étrange de Paris”, the strangest shop in Paris, and I have to agree with that assessment.
I did go there once as a teenager when Deyrolle opened back in 1831 (kidding, but I did go years later). Back then I was transfixed, now I can see that there is something thoroughly disturbing about the whole process, but then again natural history museums the world over are populated by those magnetic and scary stuffed beasts.
Visit Deyrolle fascinating website, then on your next visit to Paris, make a stop at the famous address, 46 rue du bac. If I may suggest, you might want to leave small or impressionable children home.
