It’s always a matter of great excitement to me when I discover a blogging soul-sister. Actually, All Things Bright And Beautiful found me. Here is a gal who lives in Hong Kong and likes my blog. Well, I love hers, which should come as no surprises when you consider that we share a certain fascination for chinese paper lanterns, Kaffe Fassett, and Betsey Johnson.
I am suddenly burning to write a post about Betsey Johnson, Betsey Johnson whom the blog love forever calls 'her first design icon'. She was mine too, you bet she was. Still is. I love Betsey Johnson's wild spirit. I love that she is entirely unapologetic about her choice of color, I love her smile and I absolutely adore her refusal to act her age. When I grow up, I want to be more like Betsey.

As you know, my first post was on Betsey - she's actually the reason I found blogland!
I first saw her designs here in Seibu in HK - a little knitted/ stretchy green dress & cardigan number with pink frill trim - will always remember it.

I had a Betsey Johnson suit (red and purple jacquard jacket and mini-skirt) in the 60's...it was my favorite outfit! Betsey has aged much better than I!

I love Betsey Johnson and I'm GLAD she's no Martha Stewart. Unique, individual and free always come to mind when I think of Betsey Johnson.
