My sister Ariane and I had a discussion today on the meaning of good taste. She was married in February and she and her hubby are furnishing their cool apartment in Venice, California. He and she, she tells me, have similar taste. Well, thank goodness I’m not called in as their interior designer. I do know good taste when I see it, but I’m don’t always respond to it. She prefers well-designed, contemporary furniture, clean lines and sober, earthy colors. Me, well, you might have noticed by now, I favor the childish, the frilly, the colorful, the bohemian with a rather copious ration of kitsch thrown in. Always eager to be of service, I'd love to suggest a few chosen pieces to spice up her interior. There is nothing here that I wouldn't die to get for myself.
In the entryway, I think it is important to set the tone with a strong visual that works as a focal point as well as a warning, I like this gracious animal from cool and eclectic. a bargain at $1044.
In the kitchen, I'd use this oven:
I think it would look lovely with a couple of these Kazuhiko Tomita tables thrown in
All right,I think I've done enough damage for today.
