My family and I are on our way to refresh, resource and revive our tired bones in the beautiful mountains of Mammoth, California for a few days, so this is my last post until Sunday.
Today, since we're on the eve of a big celebration, I want to post my kind of fireworks by showing the work of the artist voted (by me) most likely to be branded soon: (no, not as in ‘identified by a mark burned on livestock', but as in 'likely to end up a household name.' )
Here is Andrew Daniel!!!!
What? You don’t know him? Well, technically neither do I , and the way I’m about to rave about him he will make sure I never do. (I’m even a bit concerned he might want a restraining order.)
Here is a husband, father, teacher and artist who hides somewhere in Northern California, minding his own business while the world awaits him. His mastery of color is absolutely astounding. The abstract work strikes me as are part allegorical tableaux, part, mandalas, and his landscape and figurative work shows the world as a far better place through his absolutely unique eye.
I adore everything I’ve seen of his so far. I predict his patterns will soon become a line of fabric! I predict licencing deals! I predict entire lines of paper plates and birthday cards at target! How could he not seduce the country?
Andrew! I Heart you!!!
Everyone else: Happy fourth of July!
